Musical Interlude

When I was a country boy growing up on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, I didn't know music or musicians as shit from Shinola. I was just out of the loop. I will tell you stories one day about just how far off the beaten path I was, but today..... let's go in another direction. Today, I'm going to take you on a little tour of the music of a couple of the greats of rock and roll. One of the names you know, and the other, you likely don't, and that my friends is a shame. When I was a wet behind the ears kid, watching Joe Cocker crank out his songs in trademark style, I thought "Freak"....and what the hell is wrong with that guy?...bad drugs, man bad drugs.

When I view it through today's eyes, I think that if ever there was a time when God stood among us, then he stood behind Joe Cocker and breathed life into those magical performances that can never be duplicated. I changed my opinion over the years from "Freak" and "Druggie" to inspired genius. The man in the funky hat is Leon Russell, music legend and unappreciated genius in his own right. You obviously own a computer, so when your done here....look up Leon's Wiki site. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls....Joe Cocker and Leon Russell.....watch Joe's expression....he knows that he's gonna blow this outa the park....and the world was never the same .
No music producer ever said to Joe Cocker...Hey that was great...now could you just crank it up a notch...
And ya... Leon might have been a teeny tiny bit baked....but oh well ...

( Just because you asked..."Shinola" is old school shoe polish"...Shine ola )
