Vancouver Exposed...Historical Images in a Great Book

I  delivered a pile of family documents to the Vancouver archives recently. In the collection of papers were letters between my grandmother and Vancouver historian J S Matthews talking about the family history and the need to keep good records for future use. Fantastic old school manners in the letters...some of which were written on the back of other letters to save money. The papers are listed under "Mrs.D.A. Pearson" in the city archives.
My grandmother came from the Vancouver pioneer family, the Fishers. Her father helped Gassy Jack Dayton build his first establishment in what is now Gastown...but was then called Granville. If you get a chance to look at a photograph of the area before the fire...you'll see the Fisher house noted in the image. My grandmother was around 4 or 5 years old when Vancouver pretty much burned to the ground on June 13, 1886.
I found this great video while trolling around looking for other old footage...
